Questions about Prema
What is Prema?
Prema is an AI check-in call service. Prema calls a person you love, such as an elderly parent, on the days and at the times you choose. After each call, you get a short note about how they are doing.
How does a Prema check-in call work?
You set the schedule, for example twice a week at 10 AM. Prema calls from a phone number assigned to your account, and the caller ID shows Prema. Prema asks how the person feels, listens and talks with them about their health and mood. Then Prema sends you a note.
Who is Prema for?
Prema is for adult children, relatives and friends who cannot call as often as they want. It helps most when an older parent lives alone or far away.
Does my parent need a smartphone or an app?
Not for calls. Prema calls a normal phone number, and your parent answers like any other call. The daily check-in uses the Prema app, so it needs a smartphone. Your parent can also check in by calling the Prema number.
Is there a Prema app for families?
Yes. The family member who signs up uses the Prema app to see how their loved one is doing, read a short note after each call, get alerts, and manage the call schedule and account. The person who gets the calls does not need the app.
Is Prema a telephone reassurance program?
Prema works like a telephone reassurance program, the daily check-in calls that many senior centers run. The difference is that Prema makes the calls on your schedule and sends you a note after each one.
Is Prema an AI companion?
No. Prema does not replace family or friends. It makes short, scheduled check-in calls and tells you how the person is doing, so you know when to call them yourself.
What is a Prema Wellness Check?
A Wellness Check is a short check-in call from Prema on the days and at the time you choose. Each call confirms that the person is safe and asks how they feel.
